No. The frames work fine without the module, providing a solid (non-flashing) brake light. You can optionally add the Brake Light Module to make the LEDs flash automatically when the brakes are applied.
The BackOFF Brake Light Module can cause the brake fault indicator to light up on some models of BMW motorcycle. We have seen this on the R1150RT, the 2002+ K1200RS, and the 2002+ K1200LT. The bike's computer thinks that the tail light bulb is out when this module is installed, and that is the reason for the indicator.
As far as we're aware, only Maryland uses a different license plate frame size. Call for information on obtaining a special BackOFF frame for Maryland.
No, the Quad is only available in Chrome.
Yes. Each of the LED strips on the BackOFF frames is individually wired, so you can wire the short LEDs on the sides of the Quad frames to flash with your turn signals.
The lights do not flash on their own. You can add the BackOFF brake light module if you want the LEDs to flash automatically when the brakes are applied.
Yes. The LEDs are "Dual-Intensity", so they are on at a dim setting at all times, and go to a bright setting when the brake is applied. |
